Since the post Peyton Manning era, the Chiefs have dominated the Broncos.

The streak looks to continue today as the Chiefs face the worst offense in the league. The Broncos have averaged 13.8 points per game over the season. This puts them in the same category as the worst offense in NFL history. Since the year 2000, they have the third least amount of passing touchdowns in history. Only the 2000 Browns and 2006 Raiders have less passing touchdowns. One of the jokes floating around twitter is that Russell Wilson will have more bathrooms in his house (12) than passing touchdowns eight. This is the worst Broncos offense to take the field in their franchise history.

Not only is their offense bad, they play an undisciplined kind of football. The Broncos have the most penalties at 91 and the most penalty yards at 787.

When the schedule came out at the beginning of the year, this matchup was programmed to be on Sunday Night Football. Despite Patrick Mahomes being one of the most entertaining NFL players to watch, the Broncos managed to get this game flexed out into an afternoon game.

Despite a nearly non-existent offense, the Broncos do have one of the best defenses in the league. They have the second best points per game on the defensive side of the ball. They are only giving up 17 points.

The Chiefs do a good job at not allowing back to back losses to derail their season. Over the last 64 games the Chiefs have only allowed back-to-back losses only once. After last week’s disappointing loss, expect Kansas City coming out for a vengeance.

Patrick Mahomes has moved on to the Broncos. He said earlier in the week that teams can’t sit on the past and you need to look forward.

“In this league,” Mahomes said, “you have to move on or you’ll make one loss turn into two.”

In this game, Travis Kelce looks to make history as he is close to another milestone in receiving yards. He is 26 yards away from 10,000 career receiving yards. Kelce has dominated the Broncos his entire career. He has averaged 78 yards per game against the franchise. This is despite the fact that the Broncos have had top end defenses for most of his career.

Something that will aid against Denver’s tough defense is Kansas City’s potent offense. The Chiefs have the most plays over 25 yards, in the NFL. The Chiefs have 37 with the Dolphins as the next closest on the list with 29.

Kansas City is a healthy team going into this game. Everyone who was on the 53 man roster practiced all week. Players like Kadarius Toney did see limited practice and will not play today, but is on the up and up when it comes to a soon return.

The Chiefs could benefit from getting their starting guard Joe Thuney back from an injury, hoping to get the offensive line back on track. This is the definition of a get right game. Playing a team with a poor offense and great defense will be perfect for Kansas City. This will give the team an opportunity to get their swagger back and get back to feeling good.

Nonetheless, this will be a fun, interesting game. Being a divisional game, the Broncos will still put up a great fight.
