A gunshot occurred Wednesday morning in a neighborhood in Antioch, leaving a lady hospitalized and authorities looking for a culprit.
Officers were dispatched to East 6th Street and “A” Street at approximately 7:15 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire in the vicinity. The 47-year-old woman who had been shot at least once was discovered by the officers.
The victim received assistance from police and was transported to a nearby hospital. Officers said the victim is in “stable condition” as of Thursday.
Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit and crime scene investigators arrived on the site and took over the investigation. It took some time to get more information regarding the shooting.
No arrests in the case were reported by the police.
