Seven suspects in a home invasion who are thought to be part of a South American stealing ring were arrested, according to Sonoma County authorities.

Deputies were summoned to a residence on Chablis Drive in Windsor at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday after receiving reports of an ongoing robbery. In addition to security footage showing three suspects in the house and a fourth in a car, deputies reported discovering indications of forced entry.

The suspects were identified as members of a “South American Theft Group” by detectives from the office’s Property Crimes Unit. The group frequently targets Asian-American company owners and operates throughout the United States.

In December, Santa Rosa police apprehended five men who were also thought to be connected to a South American thievery network.

“These groups operate with a high level of sophistication, often using disguises, surveillance cameras, and other covert tactics to monitor their victims for extended periods,” the sheriff’s office warned.

In Santa Rosa, seven members of an organized crime group were taken into custody.
