‘Stop Calling It A Lie’: Whoopi Goldberg Argues Joe Biden Had ‘No Purpose’ of Pardoning Son Hunter Before the 2024 Election

President Joe Biden’s controversial decision to pardon his son Hunter for his recent criminal charges sparked a heated argument between Whoopi Goldberg and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Alyssa, a former Trump administration aide who has been vocal in her criticism of the former president, voiced her displeasure with the state of affairs, saying that the majority of Americans must deal with the consequences of their crimes and have no political connections to intervene on their behalf.

When we sit here and say, “Well, Donald Trump did X, Y, and Z, and how did he get elected?” it reinforces the idea that there are different rules for those in positions of power in various regions of the nation. “It’s just noise to a lot of this country,” she remarked. You will get away with committing crimes if you are related to someone influential and powerful in D.C., whether they are from the right, left, or center, such as Biden or Trump.

The 81-year-old’s earlier declaration that he would not pardon his son, only to change his mind right before leaving the White House, also raised concerns, according to Alyssa.

He repeatedly stated that he would not pardon him. “I think that’s deceiving the public,” she added. Because of this, they have little faith in Washington or politics. Although I am aware that many of us look up to Joe Biden, I appreciate it as a parent even though I think it is sad and bad for our institutions. I wanted to know why he lied about it for so long, but I understood why he did it.

Whoopi stepped in, though, and told her co-host to stop labeling it a lie.

The actress who plays Sister Act stated, “It’s a precedent for all of us to open our eyes because we elected somebody who was in a similar situation, didn’t have a drug problem, and knew what he was doing.” He obviously stood up and said, “I can do this,” and he succeeded.

The more that transpired, the more I think Biden thought, “Well, why am I busting my behind to stay straight and do this when nobody is?” Biden, in my opinion, had no intention of pardoning Hunter. When nobody else is? She came to a conclusion.

I think he felt he was going to win the election, Alyssa retorted. I also wish he had told the truth to the public.

Hunter was found guilty earlier this year of federal tax and gun offenses, as OK! previously reported. The maximum penalty for two offenses was 10 years in prison, and the maximum penalty for a third charge was five years.

On December 1, President Biden changed his mind about his earlier declaration that he would not issue a pardon in order to obstruct the trial.

“As I have struggled with this, I also believe that raw politics has infected this process and led to a miscarriage of justice. Once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further,” he stated at the time. “I believe in the justice system though.” Given the facts of Hunter’s case, no sane person could conclude otherwise than that Hunter was singled out only because he is my son, which is incorrect.
