In an attack over missing money that reportedly involved punches and kicks to the head, a man in Indiana tried to strangle his mother with Saran wrap, saying police he wanted to persuade her that he wasn’t a little child and that she couldn’t push him around.

Dylan Moles, 27, of New Castle, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated violence, domestic battery, and strangling in relation to an alleged matricide attempt on November 29 in court documents obtained by local Fox station WXIN.

Associated coverage:

After the two of them started fighting over $1,000 that he thought his mother had stolen from his CashApp account, Moles, who had recently been released from jail on bond for a prior alleged crime, allegedly punched, kneeled, and tried to strangle her with plastic Saran wrap, according to police, WXIN reports.

According to the police, Moles began assaulting the victim after she openly denied accepting the money. Moles allegedly admitted to police that he approached his mother from behind with the plastic wrap after making sure her home was vacant.

During police interrogation, witnesses allegedly confirmed Moles’ mother’s account after she was treated at a nearby hospital for a potential skull fracture. According to them, Moles calmly ran away on foot and was found at a Discount Tobacco store.

Moles has a long criminal history, according to WXIN, which includes prior arrests for driving while suspended with a prior conviction, operating a vehicle while inebriated, criminal mischief, and criminal trespassing, among other offenses.
