The Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets 99-93 on Thursday night, ending a five-game losing run. Jonathan Kuminga scored a career-high 33 points and made two clutch layups in the final 1:04.

In the first game of a home back-to-back, Brandin Podziemski pulled down 12 rebounds and Andrew Wiggins contributed 23 points for the Warriors.

Due to injury, Golden State was without starters Draymond Green and Stephen Curry. Green was nursing tightness in his left calf, and Curry was out to manage his troublesome knees. Both should be back on Friday.

Due to an irritation in his right ankle, Wiggins had been in doubt.

Houston was led by Alperen Sengun, who finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds.

Before finishing with 15 points, Warriors rival Dillon Brooks, who started 1 for 6, missed his first four 3-point attempts.

Rockets: The NBA fined player Tari Eason for interacting with a fan after the game, and coach Ime Udoka and Sengun for their conduct that resulted in ejections after Tuesday night’s 120-111 loss at Sacramento. Udoka received a $50,000 punishment for publicly criticizing the refereeing at his postgame news conference, confronting and using foul language against a game official, and failing to leave the field promptly after being dismissed.

Warriors: With 11 rebounds, Kevon Looney got his second start of the year.

With 3:29 seconds left before halftime, Wiggins made a three-pointer and was fouled for a four-point play that tied the score at 40. With 12.2 seconds left in the half, Wiggins made another four-pointer to give the Warriors a 49-43 lead at the half.
