There are several reasons to start a traffic stop. It may be the consequence of a traffic infraction, or it may be a regular occurrence. Since they are responsible for many deadly car accidents annually, those who drive too fast are undoubtedly one of the most common causes for being pulled over. It happened recently in North Carolina.

The person tried to evade a traffic stop after speeding

As mentioned before, speeding causes many more deadly auto accidents than it ought to. At 1:30 a.m. on December 6th, police officers in North Carolina reported seeing a car moving at over 100 miles per hour, according to WRAL News. Naturally, they made an effort to pull over the fast car. Regretfully, the car would not stop, forcing police to engage in a dangerous late-night pursuit.

The driver increased their speed as the cops tried to stop the traffic. They hit 120 mph on the expressway during the pursuit before pulling off. The cops eventually caught up. After that, they successfully stopped the motorist by using a pit maneuver.

Naturally, the traffic check resulted in the driver’s capture and detention. In addition to additional driving offenses, the person has been charged with felony fleeing to avoid arrest. It makes sense that they would be accused of reckless driving given the high speed. Although a police car was damaged during the pursuit, thankfully no one was hurt.
