Berkeley home damaged by downed tree amid gusty winds

According to fire officials, a house in North Berkeley sustained damage after a big tree was knocked down by strong winds early Tuesday morning.

A big tree crashed into a house on 2200 Eunice Street, close to the Berkeley Rose Garden, according to footage captured at the scene. The big tree struck the front of the roof and demolished the house’s front deck. A nearby building’s roof was also damaged by the tree.

According to Berkeley Fire authorities, there were no reported casualties, but the damage was significant.
