Oxon Hill, Maryland. Last Thursday, a 14-year-old student at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland, was the victim of a serious attack; part of the incident was caught on camera on a cell phone.

The parents of the girl have urged for authorities to detain the young suspects involved in the crime and are demanding justice.

The girl was surrounded by seven other children in a utility room on school property. The victim’s cell phone footage captures her sobbing in agony while the assailants repeatedly strike her face and head, breaking her nose as she squats on the ground.

The girl was found badly hurt and unconscious in her own blood in the utility closet after the attack. According to her parents, it took around half an hour for school officials to locate her.

She was eventually taken to a hospital by emergency responders to receive treatment.

“To be honest with you, I don’t feel safe sending my daughter back to any PG County school because if this happened at this school, I’m pretty sure that there are rules and regulations in their training programs, it’s all the same,” the girl’s father said in an interview with Shomari Stone of FOX 5 about his worries for his daughter’s safety.

“Student safety is our top priority,” said a representative for Prince George’s County Public Schools. On December 5, a fight broke out at Potomac High School, injuring a student. Our security and safety staff acted quickly to address the situation. Authorities from the school district have gotten in touch with the victim’s family, and we are trying to provide the victim any necessary mental health assistance. Investigations into the incident are ongoing. Because of FERPA privacy regulations, we are unable to disclose any further information.
