The charges include attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and two counts of assault causing significant injuries. The court proceedings were held at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.

Judge Kristi Hester sentenced both men to 16 years in state prison immediately after their guilty pleas.

According to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, this sentence came after a set of initial charges were amended to fit the evidence presented.

The original charges against Adams and Alvarado were more severe, including four counts of attempted murder, shooting at a vehicle, and illegal possession of a firearm. However, these charges were updated in court as new information surfaced.

The incident that led to these charges took place on February 2, 2023, at around 2 p.m.

Following the investigation, authorities identified Adams and Alvarado as the primary suspects.
