In order to solve the September shooting death during a high school reunion, Oakland police are looking for the public’s assistance.
The shooting occurred during the yearly McClymonds High School Alumni Picnic on September 28 at DeFremery Park in East Oakland.Tony Odell Miller, age 38, was identified as the victim.
Miller, a McClymonds High School alumnus who was at the reunion, was the target of the shooting, according to police sources who spoke to CBS News Bay Area. According to authorities, Miller’s twin brother was slain in an East Oakland gunfight in 2008.
Although there were perhaps 200 individuals at the park when the shooting occurred, witnesses reported that the picnic had already ended. Investigators are seeking any witnesses to the shooting to come forward, and police stated that there may have been many shooters.
