Firefighters put out a San Lorenzo home fire Thursday afternoon, but not before causing extensive damage.
Firefighters were looking for people and dogs inside a single-family home in the 1600 block of Bandoni Avenue, just west of Del Rey neighborhood park, according to Cheryl Hurd, a spokesman for the Alameda County Fire Department.
To release the trapped heat and smoke, firefighters made a hole in the house’s roof. It looked like the front part of the house was the most damaged.
According to Hurd, there were seven engines and vehicles present during the combat.
The condition of any residents or their pets was not immediately known.
