Following an allegation of a neighboring robbery on Thursday, Novato police have secured the campus and finished searching a high school, but the investigation is still ongoing, the agency said.
Police declared Novato High School on Arthur Street to be under lockdown just after noon on Thursday.
According to authorities, officers looked for robbery suspects on campus and in the neighborhood. For their investigation, officers established a perimeter and used a drone and K-9 units.
According to police, as of 1:40 p.m., the campus was secure and students were being released, with a designated pick-up location in the main parking lot of the high school.
According to Novato police, residents should continue to anticipate police presence on the streets around the school. The public is asked to stay away from the area.
