Witnesses claimed to have seen an Ohio lady aggressively submerging her 3-month-old toddler in a lake, leading to her arrest on charges of child abuse.
Sharon Rose O. Hara, 39, was taken into custody by Warren County police on suspicion of criminal child abuse.
Prosecutors claim that in July, witnesses saw O Hara smashing a car seat on the ground at Caesar Creek State Park while the baby was buckled up.
At that point, O Hara allegedly escalated his aggression by dragging the infant and car seat to the lake and slammed her into it.
After that, she allegedly took the infant out of the car seat and started brutally submerging him in the lake. While some bystanders called 911, others hurried over to aid the infant and stop O Hara.
O Hara was also taking a 9-year-old child to the park, according to Cincinnati Fox station WXIX.
In the days preceding the incident in the park, the youngster informed the police that their mother had mistreated them.
It was unclear what the infant’s condition was.
The grand jury’s report states that on July 28, 2024, in Caesar Creek State Park, the defendant seriously injured her three-month-old child and put her nine-year-old child’s health and safety at considerable risk.
O Hara is being held at Warren County Jail after being arrested on December 17. There was no mention of a bond. On December 20, she is expected to appear in court.
She was charged with one count of felony assault and three charges of endangering minors.
According to WXIX, a relative was looking after the kids.
