The Federal Aviation Administration said Friday morning that a small aircraft had an engine problem and had to make an emergency landing at the decommissioned naval air station in Alameda.

The single-engine Cessna C152 had to make an emergency landing at the former military facility while en route to Palo Alto Airport. The aircraft, carrying two occupants, made a safe landing at approximately 10:35 a.m., according to FAA officials.

The reason behind the emergency landing will be looked at by the FAA.
