A crash involving a school bus caused major traffic issues on the Capital Beltway on Monday in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Thankfully, there were no children on the bus at the time of the accident.
The incident happened around 2:50 p.m. when a truck driver rear-ended the school bus and became trapped on the highway, according to reports from Maryland State Police.
A Maryland State Trooper quickly responded to the scene and rescued the truck driver, though his current condition has not been released.
The crash caused significant lane closures on the inner loop of the Beltway at MD-450/Annapolis Road, where all lanes were initially blocked.
Only the shoulder remained open for traffic, leading to major backups that stretched for about six miles.

The outer loop, which was also closed earlier, has since reopened, but drivers experienced delays extending up to four miles.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, and no further details have been provided as of now.
