Dan Snyder, the former owner of the Washington Commanders, is having a hard time selling two of his multimillion-dollar estates in the Washington D.C. area.
According to The Washington Post, even though the luxury real estate market is doing well, no buyers have come forward for his properties.
One of the properties, a mansion in Potomac that once belonged to King Hussein of Jordan, has been on the market for a while without success.
Despite multiple price reductions, no one has shown interest in buying it.
Back in March, the Snyders donated the mansion, located at 11900 River Road, to the American Cancer Society. The charity tried to sell it for $34.9 million in May,
but no buyers were interested. By September 23, the price was dropped again to $29.9 million, but it still hasn’t sold.
In 2021, Dan Snyder made headlines when he and his wife, Tanya, set a record by buying a Fairfax County estate for $48 million.
They later decided to list their former home in Potomac, Maryland, for $49 million, hoping to break another record in 2022.

However, Snyder’s estate in Fairfax County, which is on a part of George Washington’s original Mt. Vernon estate, is still up for sale at a steep $60 million.
The high price—more than $3,700 per square foot—has scared off potential buyers.
The situation highlights the challenges even wealthy individuals like Snyder face when trying to sell high-priced properties in today’s market, despite the ongoing demand for luxury real estate.
For now, both of Snyder’s estates remain on the market, waiting for buyers willing to meet the hefty price tags.
