According to police documents acquired by News13, a 21-year-old woman is facing nearly a dozen charges after reportedly crashing another person’s car with her own and threatening a uniformed officer, saying, “I’m going to run you over with my car and beat you up until you die.”
Galivants Ferry resident Taylor Marie Rowell is accused of assaulting a police officer in the course of her duties, causing malicious damage to personal property valued at more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, and putting a public official’s life in danger on two separate occasions.
On Christmas Eve, she was taken to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, and on Thursday, she was released.
Horry County police were called to a house off Gary Road in the Conway area on Monday night after a suspect intentionally struck a parked car, according to an incident report.
Authorities found that Rowell had hit her car in a ditch near the road as they were in route. They already knew about Rowell and knew that she had a suspended driver’s license.
According to the police report, Rowell was arrested after officers saw her standing by her car in the ditch. She reportedly kicked one of the officers in the groin in an attempt to resist.
The lawsuit states that when two officers spoke with the victims, they said Rowell was inside their home trying to hurt her boyfriend and create problems with him. The other victim said that when Rowell bit him in the chest, he got involved in the scene and tried to break up Rowell and her boyfriend.
According to the complaint, Rowell then allegedly got into her vehicle, crashed into the side of one of the victims’ parked cars, then put it in reverse and drove quickly into the second victim’s vehicle. Rowell struck both cars, then slammed into a ditch and continued driving down the road.
According to the complaint, Rowell threatened to run one of the cops over with a car, so the officers came back to test her for DUI.
