As the air gets cooler and the leaves change color, the spooky vibes of Halloween start to take over. It’s the perfect time to dive into tales of ghosts, mysterious legends, and creepy places where things don’t feel quite right.

Across the United States, there are many locations with eerie stories tied to them, and some have even inspired famous horror movies.

Recently, Thrillist shared a list highlighting the “most haunted place” in each state.

The list includes creepy spots like old hospitals, murder sites, haunted houses with creepy dolls, and hotels that give people chills. These locations have been the backdrop for some well-known scary films.

In Tennessee, the top haunted spot is the Bell Witch Cave in Adams. This place has such a spooky reputation that even former U.S. President Andrew Jackson felt uneasy when he visited.

He admitted he didn’t see anything strange but heard enough to make him think he’d rather face the British than deal with the hauntings from the Bell Witch.

The story of the Bell Witch goes way back to the early 1800s.

Kids in Tennessee still grow up hearing stories about this ghost, known as ‘Kate,’ who terrorized the Bell family.

The ghost supposedly lived in a cave behind the Bell family’s home, causing trouble by pulling hair, pinching people, and making strange noises.
