After a 75-year-old woman was abducted and her boyfriend was found dead in their house, Arizona police detained a man.
Deputies from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a lady being abducted in Pearce, approximately 80 miles east-southeast of Tucson, at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Friday, according to a press release.
The woman claimed that at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, a man in dark clothing, wearing a mask, entered her home’s back workshop and brandished a gun at her.
The woman reported to police that the man had blindfolded her eyes and restrained her. After that, she heard a number of loud noises and couldn’t tell what was happening.
Police say that after nightfall, the man pushed the victim into the back seat of her silver 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche.
According to deputies, the suspect left the premises in a car. The woman escaped her bonds and ran away as the car stopped.
She managed to get help by running to a nearby residence.
When she told authorities about the terrible experience, the woman told deputies that the man had entered a Dollar General and believed she was still inside. Subsequently, she requested that they see her lover at home.
When deputies tried to reach anyone inside, they got no response. When they broke into the house, they found that the 67-year-old lover had passed away.
The suspect, Rynn Prairie-Rocca, 37, was arrested close to Catclaw Road and Highway 181, according to police.
Before authorities were able to persuade Prairie-Rocca to leave, he barricaded himself for around ninety minutes. They brought him to the jail in Cochise County. What charges he faces are unknown.
Whether the act was random or if Prairie-Rocca had any relationship to the victims was not disclosed by the police.
Additionally, deputies refused to reveal the victims’ identities in public or the cause of the male victim’s death. Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
