CAA Hanford In sections of central California, a winter weather alert is still in effect. Snow is predicted to fall from Saturday morning to Monday afternoon, making travel dangerous.
The advisory covers the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Yosemite National Park, and towns like Oakhurst, Bass Lake, and Shaver Lake, according to the Hanford National Weather Service (NWS).
Higher elevations above 8,000 feet may receive up to 12 inches of snow, while lower elevations may receive up to 6 inches.
Above 4,500 feet, accumulations of up to 9 inches are predicted in Grapevine, Tehachapi, and the neighboring areas, which are also included in the advisory.
Up to 2 inches could be seen at lower levels close to 3,500 feet. Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Yosemite and 4 p.m. in Tehachapi, the advisory will remain in effect until 4 p.m. on Monday.
It is anticipated that roads, bridges, and overpasses may become slippery and dangerous, perhaps creating challenging travel conditions. It is advised that drivers exercise caution and drive slowly.
