A 39-year-old Hamilton woman was taken into custody and charged by police after a stolen car was stopped in Grimsby using a spike belt.
The stolen white Subaru Impreza was identified by a Burlington OPP Niagara Detachment officer on patrol near Windward Avenue on Sunday at approximately 3 p.m. using Automatic Licence Plate Recognition equipment.
While escaping from a spike belt, the car first failed to stop, almost running over the officer, and then crashed with another car.
Linsay Oak, the driver, was taken into custody by Niagara Regional Police after they found the stolen car. She is now being charged with several crimes.
