The electrical systems at Solano Widenmann Leadership Academy were “severely damaged” by a theft, according to a statement released by the Vallejo City Unified School District on Saturday.

According to district officials, repairs should be completed in roughly a week. In the event that the shutdown is prolonged, the district promised to set up “alternate student placements to minimize disruptions.”

According to California Department of Education enrollment records, the school at 1025 Corcoran Avenue is attended by about 600 children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
