A shooting occurred during a sideshow in East Oakland over the weekend, leaving one person dead and two injured and hospitalized.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., Oakland Police reported that officers were summoned to the 900 block of East 12th Street, which is located between 9th and 10th avenues. According to police, they were looking into several ShotSpotter activations that occurred during unlawful sideshow activities.
Although they were unable to locate the victims, responding officers discovered signs of a shooting.
Three victims with gunshot wounds had arrived at a nearby hospital, police were informed shortly after.
One of the victims was declared dead at the hospital after passing away from their wounds. Police noted that while next-of-kin are being notified, the victim’s name is being concealed.
The other two victims, meanwhile, were described as being in “stable condition.”
The three were identified as victims of the shooting in the 900 block of East 12th Street after an initial investigation.
Investigations into the shooting’s circumstances are still ongoing.
