Police in Santa Rosa said Tuesday they had arrested two individuals in relation to the shooting death of a lady in the Roseland section of the city on Monday night.
A 911 call of an injured woman on the sidewalk of Whitewood Drive, just north of Hearn Avenue, was received on Monday just before 7 p.m.
When the officers arrived, they discovered a woman who was unconscious and had been shot at least once in the torso. At the scene, she was declared deceased.
Investigators located a white Toyota Tacoma truck parked on East Robles Avenue and identified the suspect and his car. Investigators discovered that the suspect, 38-year-old Domingo Miguel Lopez, and his companion, 42-year-old Floriberto Sanchez, were both visiting a motel room in the 3100 block of Santa Rosa Avenue.
Sanchez was arrested by authorities after leaving the room and leaving the motel on Tuesday. Both the car and the motel room were subject to a warrant.
The arrest and search warrants were served by SWAT, a hostage negotiating team, and more officers at around 1:30 pm. Lopez turned himself in without incident and was arrested, according to the police. According to reports, a gun was found in the motel room.
Sanchez was arrested on charge of accessory after the fact, while Lopez was arrested on suspicion of murder at the Sonoma County Jail.
