A Berkeley police officer was hurt on Wednesday during a chase involving a stolen car, according to authorities. The chase began around 1:40 p.m. when a license plate reader spotted a stolen car in Berkeley.
Officer Bryon White said the car, a red Audi, was found parked at a grocery store downtown.
When officers approached, the suspects quickly drove off, hitting one police car and almost hitting another. They even drove onto the sidewalk, nearly hitting several pedestrians before speeding away.
The police chased the Audi into Oakland, where it crashed into two vehicles at MacArthur Boulevard and Calaveras Avenue. One of the vehicles was a school bus.
The police caught the suspects, a man and a woman.

The woman was arrested on charges of attempted assault with a deadly weapon, having a stolen car, and hit-and-run. The man was arrested on a felony warrant.
Both suspects were taken to the hospital for medical checks.
The police officer and the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash were also taken to the hospital. The officer had a leg injury, and the other driver reported pain.
