A man from Menlo Park has been arrested for attacking another person with a golf club earlier this week in Palo Alto, authorities reported on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Monday along the creek embankment near the 2000 block of East Bayshore Road.
When the police arrived, they found a man with a serious head injury.
The injured man was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and doctors expect him to recover.
According to the investigation, the man was with his girlfriend at the time of the attack. An acquaintance approached them, holding a golf club.
The two men got into an argument, and the suspect allegedly threatened to kill the victim before hitting him on the head with the club.
Following this, the suspect picked up a kitchen knife from the area and threatened the victim again.
However, when the victim’s girlfriend stepped in, the suspect fled the scene on his bicycle.

Police detectives managed to identify the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest, citing charges of attempted murder, criminal threats—both serious felonies—and misdemeanor brandishing.
The suspect surrendered to the police at the East Palo Alto Police Department on Wednesday morning and was later booked into the Santa Clara County jail based on the charges.
