On Sunday evening, a Greyhound bus went down in Fairfield Township.

SR 271 in Fairfield Township was closed between Rachelwood Drive and the Westmoreland County boundary, according to the Wilpen Volunteer Fire Company.

According to firefighters, it has partially reopened.

According to a Greyhound representative, the bus was on its way from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh when it collided on SR 271 because of the slippery road conditions.

The passengers will be picked up and taken to their destination by a relief bus.

Firefighters were called to other wrecks and disabled vehicle incidents in the region in addition to the bus disaster.

If drivers are out or staying at home, they are requested to stay away from the area.

For additional information, Channel 11 has reached out to the Pennsylvania State Police and is awaiting a response.
