A woman from Campbell lost her life after a car crash in a residential area in South San Jose. The accident happened on Oct. 1, around 3:30 p.m., in the 1400 block of St. Francis Drive.
According to the police, the driver was traveling south in a white 2012 Ford Edge SUV.
For reasons that are still being looked into, the driver moved out of her lane, crashed into a parked car, and then hit a tree.
She was rushed to the hospital with what were thought to be minor injuries at first, and she was expected to recover. Sadly, she passed away on Oct. 5, as per the police report.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified her as 43-year-old Letitia Leighhazelma Coriakula from Campbell.
The official cause of her death is still being determined.

This incident is the 42nd traffic-related death recorded by San Jose police this year.
