Three men sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint and compelled her boyfriend to witness the incident

Three men in Georgia are going to jail for robbing a couple and raping a woman while holding a gun to her boyfriend’s head.

Five people were found guilty in Gwinnett County on Friday of rape, aggravated sodomy, and armed robbery in connection with the 2021 attack. The defendants are Daquain R. Livingston, 21, Elijah Nil Curney, 20, and Dashawn Andrettie Harris, 18.

This was a terrible crime that had to be stopped, Gwinnett County District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson said in a statement after the decision. “These defendants caused unimaginable pain to their victims, and these three men should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

A news report from the county district attorney’s office says the horrible attack happened in the parking lot of The Falls at Gwinnett Place apartment complex on July 21, 2021.

The prosecutors wrote in the release, “The defendants pointed guns at the couple and assaulted the woman while holding a gun to the male victim and making him watch the attack.”

At one point, one of the defendants said he would “blow her brains out” if the female victim fought back during the attack. When the attack was over, the suspects took things from both victims’ cars and left. The victims ran away on foot in different directions.

Investigators said they were able to find Ring doorbell video of the group just before the attack because of how different the attackers were described. For example, Curney was only 5 feet, 4 inches tall, while Livingston was over 6 feet tall and wore red jogging pants.

Experts say that DNA found in a rape kit was identical to that of Curney, and fingerprints found in the victims’ cars were identical to those of Harris.

A passenger in a car that was stopped and checked about a month after the attack was C. The gun that was stolen from a car near the attack was found inside the stopped car by police.

The release says that when investigators questioned Curney, he matched what they saw on video from the July 21 event. “He admitted that he was there when the rape happened and gave some information about his co-defendants.” When the cops looked through his phone, they saw many contacts and social media posts with Harris.
