DC teenager claims she and companions fatally attacked crippled, elderly man Reggie Brown because they were ‘bored’.

A group of teenage girls chased and beat to death an old disabled man in an alley in Washington, DC. They did this because they were “bored” and wanted to do something.

The cruel attack in 2023 that killed 64-year-old Reggie Brown was carried out by five girls between the ages of 12 and 15.

After going to an area skate park on October 17, 2023, the girls were looking for something to do in Silver Spring, Maryland.

WUSA reports that a 15-year-old girl told a DC judge on Wednesday that she had told them to “find someone to beat up.”

“Why did you tell the group that?” Gabrielle Logaglio, a lawyer from the Office of the Attorney General in DC, asked.

The girl, whose name was not given because of her age, said, “Because we were bored.”

The oldest girl in the group, 15 years old, pleaded guilty to murder last week. She was called to the stand to witness against two of her friends.

The group of outcasts got to Georgia Avenue and Sheridan Street in the Brightwood neighborhood of DC just after 11 p.m., where they saw an unknown man beating up Brown and asked if they could join the fight.

Brown tried to run away while his attackers talked, but the five girls and their new male partner caught up to him and pulled him off a fence he was holding of.

Police video showed the chase that led Brown to an alley, where the attackers beat and kicked him while the girl’s 13-year-old sister recorded the attack on her phone.

The suspects stomped his head on the concrete, then pulled his pants down to his ankles and beat him with his belt, detectives told the Washington Post in March.

Metro Police say that Brown was found dead on the street just before 1 a.m. with horrific injuries that were consistent with being slashed.

The news source says that one girl can be heard yelling, “Damn, you leakin’!”

The girls’ family members left the courtroom before they saw a frightening video of Brown lying on the ground helpless while the girls kicked and made fun of him for bleeding.

Brown’s death was ruled a murder because he was hit in the head hard enough to cause brain bleeds.

“He’s dead,” the 15-year-old girl remembered thinking as she ran away from the attack that killed someone.

The first person in the group to be sentenced last week, she was the least aggressive in the attack on Brown, police say. According to WUSA9, she only kicked him once in the torso.

To get out of the second-degree murder charge she was facing, she took a plea deal and admitted to attack with a dangerous weapon.

The teen was given three years of locked up prison time.

The medical examiner’s office came to the conclusion that Brown died because of the kicks to the head.

District law says that the worst sentence that can happen to a minor offender in DC is jail time until they turn 21.

In the nation’s capital, kids don’t have jury hearings.

The teens will be found guilty by DC Superior Judge Kendra Briggs.

“The young woman today felt bad about what she did.” “She felt sorry for the families and said sorry,” Brown’s sister Malda Brown said after the 15-year-old was sentenced. In light of this, we believe that Judge Briggs made the right choice for our family today.

The youngest girl was 12 years old at the time of the attack. Her lawyers say the other suspects got her wrong.
