Singer Zayn postpones US tour after Liam Payne’s death

Because of the death of his former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, English singer Zayn Malik had to cancel a trip to the U.S. on Saturday.

In an X post, the musician, whose stage name is Zayn, said that he made the choice “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week.”

He said that the plans for the U.S. leg of his “Stairway to the Sky” tour would be moved to January and that he would post the new dates soon.

Next week, Zayn had shows planned in Las Vegas, San Francisco (at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium), and Los Angeles. The following week, he had shows planned in Washington, D.C., and New York.

Zaryn wrote, “Your tickets will still work for the new dates.” “Love you all, and thanks for getting it.”

There was a body found Wednesday in Buenos Aires after Payne, 31, fell from a hotel rooftop. Many of his friends, coworkers, and fellow artists were shocked and saddened by his death.

In an Instagram tribute, Payne’s sister Ruth Gibbins was the most recent person to say what she thought.

“I truly believe that this is taking place.” She wrote, “I’ve shared my pride in Liam many times in public, but not much about my life as his sister.”

In her words, her brother was “born with music in his veins,” and she loved how he could make her laugh the most.

She wrote, “I don’t think this world was good enough or kind enough to you.”

One Direction was the first boy band on the internet to reach the same level of fame as the Beatles. Teenagers in the band had to deal with becoming famous all of a sudden and then a breakup while trying to build single careers.
