Down-to-Earth Houston Man Identified as Victim in Deadly Helicopter Crash!

A tragic helicopter crash in Houston on Sunday night claimed the lives of four people, including Cesar Lerma, a man remembered for his humility and dedication to his work.

Lerma was one of three passengers aboard a National Helicopter Solutions tour helicopter when it crashed into a radio tower.

The impact was captured in multiple videos, and no one survived the crash.

According to data from FlightAware, the helicopter was flying at 108 miles per hour and about 600 feet above the ground when the accident occurred.

The crash killed Lerma, two of his family members, and the pilot, whose identities have not yet been released.

Sergio Suniga, a long-time friend of Lerma, shared his memories of the man he had known for over a decade.

Both worked in the same business mall in Southeast Houston before Lerma relocated his carpentry work to Pearland. Despite moving, Lerma often returned to visit Suniga and others in the mall.

Suniga recalled how passionate Lerma was about his work and his family, noting that Lerma always went the extra mile in everything he did. “

He would show me pictures of his carpentry work, and it was always flawless. When I would compliment him, he’d say, ‘Sergio, I always go the extra mile, no matter what.’”

Lerma’s dedication extended beyond his professional life. Suniga fondly remembered working on Lerma’s Hummer and how proud Lerma was of it.

“He would joke and call it his baby,” Suniga shared with a smile.

For Suniga, Lerma was much more than just a talented carpenter; he was also a kind and humble man.

Despite driving a luxury Hummer, Lerma would always greet friends with warmth and generosity.

“He was the most humble person you could ever meet. He’d step out of his Hummer and come give you a hug, asking how you were and what you needed.”

Suniga, who is also a pastor, reflected on the fragility of life, urging people to live fully and appreciate every moment. “You always hear people say that, but not everyone truly lives it. Cesar did.”
