A 24-year-old woman from Chicago was taken into custody this week after being accused of shooting another woman in the Archer Heights neighborhood.
Cynthia Garcia, aged 24, has been charged with two serious felonies. She faces one count of aggravated battery involving the discharge of a firearm and another count of aggravated battery causing severe bodily harm, according to local authorities.
The incident took place on Sunday evening at around 8 p.m. in the 4100 block of West 47th Street, where Garcia allegedly shot and injured a 25-year-old woman.
Police responded quickly to the scene after receiving reports of the shooting.
Garcia was arrested roughly an hour later in the 3400 block of West 63rd Street. Authorities have confirmed her arrest and stated that she is currently in custody.
