Semi-automatic gun was found in the vehicle of a man with a hate crime warrant

Police in San Mateo County say they have arrested a man who had an outstanding warrant for a criminal threats hate crime charge.

At 11 p.m. on Friday, deputies stopped a car in Half Moon Bay for breaking the vehicle code. It was found that the driver was Jason R. Quiros, 52, of El Granada.

Because of more research, it was found that Quiros had an active warrant for a criminal threats hate crime charge and a disorderly conduct charge.

The sheriff’s office says that a fully loaded, unregistered semi-automatic gun was found in Quiros’ car.

Quiros was caught and taken to the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of having a loaded gun that wasn’t registered and a warrant out for his arrest.
