Juvenile shot near Market Park in Laurinburg; investigation underway

Laurinburg, North Carolina  — A 15-year-old youngster was shot in Laurinburg on Sunday afternoon.

Scotland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the incident on Lees Mill Road around 3:45 p.m.

The juvenile was sent to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

After evaluating city camera systems, it was determined that the event took place near Market Park on Lees Mill Road within the city limits of Laurinburg.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
