Man charged after allegedly assaulting a seven-month-old

A man from Dickson City has been charged with smothering a baby who is seven months old.

The criminal complaint says that police were called to Geisinger Community Medical Center because a seven-month-old child had been abused.

The baby’s crime report says she had cuts on her neck and a mark on her stomach that looked like the shape of a hand.

The affidavit says that Tre Fox-Frazier, who is 19 years old, was left home alone with the seven-month-old baby.

On video from inside the home, police say Fox-Frazier put the baby on the floor with her legs bent backward and laid her back by putting his palm over her nose and mouth for about two seconds.

The FBI wants to know more about male John Doe.

Investigators said the baby could be heard gasping for air when Fox-Frazier took his hand off of her face.

According to court documents, Fox-Frazier tried to comfort the baby again before going to the bathroom. From the bathroom, a sound that sounds like a hand hitting skin can be heard.

A video was looked at by the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office on November 13.

Fox-Frazier is being charged with simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child, which are both felonies.
