Big rig jackknifes on Bay Bridge, crash blocks eastbound Highway 80 lanes

The California Highway Patrol reports that early Thursday morning, a section of eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in San Francisco was stopped by a jackknifed large rig.

Around 5:40 a.m., the CHP posted on social media that the big-rig had closed four eastbound lanes of the I-80 just east of First Street, close to the beginning of the Bay Bridge’s lower deck.

The organization estimates that by 9 a.m., the impacted highway will be fully reopened.
