Daisy Link suddenly became pregnant by another prisoner while she was incarcerated on a second-degree murder charge in 2022.

On different charges of murder, Link, 29, and Joan Depaz, 24, were both being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County, Florida. They say they have a baby together despite never having met in person.

According to WSVN, Link called their child a “miracle baby,” and Depaz likened her conception to that of the Virgin Mary.

Link claims that after spending so much time alone, you start talking to this person for hours on end, to the point where it feels like you’re in the same room as them.

“I’ve always wanted to have a baby,” Depaz remembers telling her once. And it will be a while before I can do that. Therefore, you would be my choice if I had to pick one.

After that, they came up with a strategy to become parents. At the time, Depaz thought that this would be remembered for all eternity.

Link responded over the vent when asked how she got pregnant while incarcerated pending trial.

The couple soon discovered that Link could drop anything from her vent and have it land in his, according to Depaz. For a month in a row, he wrapped his sperm in Saran wrap five times a day.

According to Link, he would roll it up almost like a cigarette and connect it to the line we had in the vent. I would then draw it through. After that, she administered it by inserting it into applicators for yeast infections.

She claimed that after several attempts, she became pregnant. Although the odds of getting pregnant this way are slim, it is possible, Dr. Fernando Akerman, medical director of the Fertility Center of Miami, told WSVN.

On June 19, the baby was born. The website states that Depaz’s mother is currently housing the five-month-old.

That worked, and I can’t believe it. Link clarified, “I think everything happened for a reason.” She is capable of being anything. She has the potential to be fantastic, in my opinion.

“It’s a tremendous twist,” she went on. “This reminds me of Lifetime Movie Network,” everyone says.

The pair is currently being detained at various facilities. According to records, Link is still being held in Turner Guilford Knight on a second-degree murder charge, while Depaz, who is accused with first-degree murder, is being held at Metrowest Detention Center. They still talk to their child on the phone and through video calls, according to WSVN.
