The crucial moments when an Ohio lady shot another person dead after a nocturnal altercation are captured on cellphone film.
The 23-year-old Akira Fletcher killed 29-year-old Nyema Norton in what Hamilton County prosecutors concluded was murder despite her claim of self-defense.
Even though Fletcher removed the video from his Facebook posts, both segments are included in the embed below.
On July 12, Norton and another lady are seen on camera outside Fletcher’s car in a parking lot. As previously mentioned, Fletcher claimed to have made two 911 calls.
Nyema attempted to enter my car, pebbles were hurled at me, and I was assaulted in the face, she wrote.
Fletcher and the women can be seen teasing one another in the footage. In the first video, the women seemed to shatter Fletcher’s back window.
Associated coverage:
Fletcher shouted at the women and threatened to shoot them at one point in the footage.
He answered, “You should be happy you don’t get clapped.” I’ll give you a clap if you come close to me.
Fletcher appeared to begin driving away at the end of the first video, but the second one shows her car halted with the driver’s glass shattered out. A car stands between Norton and another woman on the sidewalk and Fletcher’s car.
They were repeatedly warned by Fletcher that they would be sent to prison. Hit me once more.
Norton stepped forward, lunged through the broken driver’s side glass, and reached down out of the camera’s line of sight. Fletcher fired four shots.
According to Fletcher’s testimony, she attacked me by smashing out the driver-side window, tried to knife me inside my car, and I allowed her to beat me while I was calling 911 for assistance. I told them to stop again and over. I let her to punch me multiple times, but I never stepped out of my car to fight.
Norton was shot along with the other woman, but on August 26 she passed away from her wounds.
Online records indicate that a hearing in the case is set for Tuesday.
