When Zack and Autumn Carver had their third child in 2021, they were thrilled and ecstatic.

The anguish of giving birth to their son was unknown to them.

When Autumn, an Indiana mother with COVID-19, was able to hold her baby child for the first time in over seven weeks following an emergency c-section, she made headlines.\

Autumn Carver, 34, gave birth to her baby Huxley on August 27 via emergency C-section at 33 weeks gestation, and on October 19, 2021, she held him for the first time at the same Indiana hospital.

The 34-year-old expectant mother and her husband, Zach, both tested positive for COVID in August. Autumn needed to be placed on a ventilator because of respiratory problems, while Zach developed a temperature.

She gave birth to her first son, Huxley Carver, and her third child after being airlifted to Methodist Hospital. Autumn was placed on life support, while Huxley was hospitalized for eleven days.

However, Autumn persevered and was able to hold her unborn child for the first time more than two months later.

For me, her parents, and of course Autumn, it was quite emotional, her husband Zach Carver told Good Morning America. She is battling so hard to go home to our children because of this.

According to her husband, his wife was the most lovely and caring person who could make everyone happy.

To put it mildly, it was an incredible moment when she saw our son at 3 p.m. today. The incident was observed by her parents, one of her closest friends, and numerous medical professionals, including nurses and physicians. I don’t know if anyone in the vicinity had dry eyes. I heard Autumn exclaim, “I love Zach,” later this afternoon. What a fantastic day.

A wonderful day like today was much needed, but we still have a long way to go. Autumn expresses gratitude to everyone for their prayers and encouragement during this journey. May you be blessed.

After that, the mother of three was brought to Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She might eventually need a lung transplant because her lungs are now deteriorating.

Zach sent an update on his wife’s health on November 17th, writing: She is becoming stronger and can move around our room more and more without a walker.

“She’s going to die,” he added, “then she’s going to need a full lung transplant, and finally she’s going home.” It truly is a miracle.

I am thrilled that this supermom is on the mend; it is truly a miracle and shows how strong she is to recover so she can be there for her kids.
