The identify of the young man who perished in a car accident on Sunday has been made public by the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

Austin McGuire, 21, was killed at the site of the collision on U.S. Route 127 close to Filtration Plant Street, according to the office.

Just before six in the morning, McGuire’s Mitsubishi SUV swerved off the right side of the road and collided with a tree, according to Cincinnati.com.

Deputies explained that they have not yet ascertained the reason for McGuire’s loss of control of the vehicle and are still looking into the cause of the collision.

The Journal-News adds to the material already accessible by stating that drink and speed may have contributed to the fatal incident.

To ascertain the crash’s exact cause, the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office is carrying out a comprehensive investigation.

At approximately 5:50 a.m., deputies, St. Clair Fire, and EMS responded to the emergency call, Sheriff Richard Jones said FOX19.

McGuire’s death was declared an accident by the coroner, who attributed it to head trauma. It’s unclear, though, if alcohol or drugs played a significant part in the collision.
