‘There are no ifs, ands, or buts.’ Someone give ‘genius’ Marjorie Taylor Greene a crash course in reality, because repeating a lie does not make it true.

Once again, Marjorie Taylor Greene has shown that she cannot accept reality. What is Marjorie doing at the moment? Let’s just say it’s a tragic tale that involves some dubious finger-pointing and a last-ditch effort to change the course of the January 6 Capitol riots.

Marjorie made the decision to leave a remark on a post about Matthew Perna, a defendant who was charged on January 6 and whose untimely suicide has served as a focal point for Greene’s narrative of alleged political persecution. She went on with her conspiracy-filled tirades and victimization stories. She blamed US Attorney Matthew Graves for the Department of Justice’s alleged targeting of peaceful protesters. Marjorie even took use of the occasion to advertise her pet project, the Matthew Perna Act, which is opposed by many and has no co-sponsors.

Could we just talk about Marjorie’s moral compass for a moment? By bringing up Matthew Perna’s passing, she is primarily trying to evoke strong feelings in us. This says a lot. Why is she involving the BLM in this as well? She is trying to make a comparison between rioters who want to destroy democracy and nonviolent demonstrators who condemn systemic injustice. It appears like Marge thought no one would notice the significant disparities between the two situations.

Despite not having written Marjorie’s piece, the former president’s oily fingers are all over it. Marjorie’s confidence in Trump’s baseless accusations of election fraud, which sparked the Capitol riot, is what motivates her to try to alter history. Furthermore, X users are refusing to allow Marjorie to change history, even though she has stated that this is all about justice for the alleged victims.

Marjorie’s claim that the defendants from January 6 are being persecuted for their political beliefs conveniently ignores the reality that they broke the law by taking part in an uprising. She doesn’t seem to understand that the demonstrators took part in a bloody coup to topple a democratic election.

Therefore, it is obvious to anyone with a modicum of common sense that they are not taking part in a peaceful demonstration. However, Marjorie would rather blame Matthew Graves and paint him as the boogeyman than face up to the wrongdoings of the people she is standing by.

The public’s collective refusal to allow Marjorie to get away with it is the true problem here, not her attempts to change the story. She might think that if she said a lie again, it would become true, but the truth is unwavering. No matter how many times Marjorie tries to change the course of events with her wild story of what she says happened on that fateful day, the public will not accept the fact that January 6 was whitewashed.

Marjorie’s arguments are now offensive in addition to being boring. One could as well refer to the Matthew Perna Act as Gaslighting for Novices. Her attempts to assign blame reveal her unwillingness to confront truth and draw attention to Marjorie’s stale theatrics and revisionist past.

She might think that her speech is hitting like a truth bomb and will secure her a prominent place in Trump’s clown cabinet, but it won’t. However, if her intention is to provoke anger and establish herself as the least popular historian on the internet, then she has succeeded.
