A deer hunter killed a mountain lion in Iron County. Missouri Conservation investigates

If a hunter killed a mountain lion over the weekend, the Missouri Department of Conservation said they would look into it.

They wrote on their Facebook page that it took place in Iron County.

Fort Leonard Wood is to the west, and St. Louis is to the south.

The department said that conservation officers were still looking into the shooting and that they did not have any more information to give at this time.

The last mountain lion seen in Missouri was on February 13, 2024, when it was caught on a game camera in Maries County, according to the website of the Missouri Department of Conservation.

A mountain lion was caught on a game camera in Pulaski County on January 4, 2024.
