‘A driver died in a crash in Hamilton,’ the sheriff said

A driver lost their life in a single-vehicle collision on Sunday morning, according to Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.

Deputies and St. Clair Fire and EMS were called to North 3rd Street near the Great Miami River bridge at approximately 5:50 a.m., according to Sheriff Jones.

According to Sheriff Jones, the driver of a 2011 Mitsubishi SUV, age 21, lost control and sped off the right side of the road, striking with a tree while driving south on U.S. 127.

The driver’s death is reported at the scene by Sheriff Jones.

Whether drinking or drugs contributed to the collision is unknown.

The cause of the crash is still being looked into.
