A 43-year-old man who was found shot inside a smashed car has been charged with his gunshot death.
Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr. has charged 23-year-old D. Anthonie Jackson with two charges of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and one count of firing a firearm on or near a forbidden property.
Officers from Dayton were called to the 200 block of Kammer Avenue about 1:25 a.m. on November 30th after receiving a complaint of gunfire, as previously reported by News Center 7.
Steve Dews, 43, was found by officers inside his vehicle after it collided with a post.
Dews was shot, authorities said. After being brought to a hospital, he passed away.
Heck claims that homicide officers found Jackson after conducting additional research, which included looking into the Dews phones’ text messages and cell phone.
Three-year firearm specs are included in all figures.
Jackson is still being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million cash bond, per online jail records.
He is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday, December 17.
