A man from Kentucky was arrested when he disembarked from a cruise ship in Miami, allegedly owing over $100,000 in child support.

The New York Post reports that Dominic Weaver, 47, was sent to Kentucky after being caught just after disembarking from a cruise ship in Miami, Florida, last week.

Weaver owes between $114,000 and $120,000 in child support, according to Jefferson County Attorney Mike O. Connell, who told WDRB that the suspect had been evading justice for years.

O Connell told the news outlet, “I don’t know when he left, but he fled the jurisdiction, and from the date of his sentence until today, and even today, he’s not paid one cent of child support.” One of the most horrible things I’ve ever seen that exposes anything is this.

The individual was previously given a five-year probationary term for severe non-support in 2019, according to Law & Crime.

O Connell plans to ask the court to reverse Weaver’s original sentence and guarantee his detention for a maximum of four years, according to The Post.

According to the publication, Weaver’s deficiency was so serious that his name was listed among those of parents who owe a significant amount of money for the care of their children in 2021.
