A man died and another was injured in the Hampton shooting

A man was killed and another injured in a shooting in Hampton on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Police say officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of North King Street shortly after 4 p.m. after receiving a call about a shooting. There, officers discovered two men who had been shot.

Both men were taken to the hospital, according to police. One of them died of his injuries in the hospital.

Police expect the other man to survive.

Police have not identified a suspect at this time. However, police are investigating the incident as a homicide and are asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspect.
