A man in Springs was given life in prison for killing his wife and child

In 2022, a guy from Colorado Springs was found guilty of shooting and killing his wife and baby son, and he was recently sentenced to life in jail for his crime.

David Weingarten was determined to be responsible for the shooting death of Lizet Salinas-Mijangos, who was 26 years old, and their son, George Weingarten, who was eight months old before his death.

The records that were used to make the arrest stated that Weingarten called the police after the shooting that took place in February of 2022 and stated that he had “been hearing things” and that something had come over him.

Although there was a second kid present in the house at the time, the couple’s daughter, who was 20 months old at the time, she did not sustain any injuries.

On October 17, a jury decided that Weingarten was responsible for a number of crimes, including first-degree murder, first-degree murder of a child under the age of 12 by a person in a position of trust, child abuse, and reckless endangerment on many occasions.
