A Maryland mother of two was killed by a guy who fled police and then shot himself when caught

A man fatally shot and killed a mother of two in Maryland. The man apparently drove away from the scene of the crime but then shot himself in the head when police caught up with him.

Just before 11 a.m., police said they found 25-year-old Alasia Janell Milburn badly hurt at a house in the 46000 block of Rosewood Drive in Lexington Park.

She looked like she had been shot, so the police quickly took her to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, but she sadly died there.

When the police came, they also took a baby who was seven months old away from the scene. Kenneth Louis Price, 38, of Washington, DC, was caught speeding up Route 5.

Witnesses said he quickly jumped into a red Hyundai Kona and drove away from the scene of the killing.

When Price sped into Charles County, more police cars joined the chase. Deputies from the Charles and Calvert County Sheriff’s Offices as well as the Maryland State Police eventually joined the hunt for price.

Price stayed away from police until a Calvert County officer hit the shooter’s car near the 15000 block of Prince Frederick Road in Hughesville. The shooter was stuck because the car was wrecked.

He got out of his car for a moment and then quickly ducked back inside. Officers from the police force said they heard a single gunshot immediately after.

He was found almost dead from a gunshot wound he gave himself. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but he passed away just before noon.

The officer from Calvert County was also taken to a nearby hospital to get treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Sheriff Steve Hall of St. Mary County said, “We are saddened by the death of this young mother, and we will pray for her family.”

The terrible events of today make it clear that we need to keep working hard to stop abuse in relationships at all levels.

We’re thankful that no one else got hurt during the chase. We saw how professionally the tri-county cops worked together and how well our three counties worked together. The work was excellent.

It is being looked into by the Criminal Investigations Division of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. Detective Kortnie Marsch can be reached at 301-475-4200 or by email at [email protected] if anyone has useful information about what happened.
